Lonna, Dave & I drove 2 hours to Franklin, NC to see our friends' band, Eureka California, play their last show of their Spring 2011 tour of the east coast. It was a beautiful spring day and the venue was a farmhouse-like boyscout hut. We were fed yummy vegan bean soup & bread and I brought vegan no-bake cookies for dessert. We all went for a short walk into Franklin, a small & conservative town, but all the thrift stores and shops had closed at 2 or 4. So we bought some beer at Ingles and sat on the front porch/steps, drinking & talking until the show started. It was a good show, especially Eureka California, Moon Ladder and Total War. After a short drive through the mountains, we were back home.
